Is Your Information Current?

Every January, we have new BlueCross BlueShield members looking for providers on our website’s Find a Doctor tool. If any of the information we have about your practice has changed, you may miss the chance to add new patients. Patients may also receive incorrect information about how to reach you or where you’re located.

If any of the following information needs to be updated, please let your practice account manager know:

  • Provider name
  • Practice location(s) (address, phone and fax numbers)
  • Office hours
  • Accepting/not accepting new patients
  • Specialties
  • Additional services (disabilities accommodations, languages spoken, board certifications, hospital affiliations)

An easier way to update us

Beginning January 2020, we are partnering with BetterDoctor to help us keep our network provider information current. Since BetterDoctor works with many payers in our region, this should make the process more streamlined for your practice.

If you are already registered with BetterDoctor, they will send us your current information. If not, you may receive a request to validate your information online, as part of a new outreach campaign.

You can update us in a variety of ways:

  • Go to BetterDoctor to validate or make changes to your provider information
  • Fill out a Provider Demographic Change Form found on our provider website “View Forms” page
    • Completed forms can be submitted by fax or email
      • Fax instructions are included on the form
      • You can email the form to us at, including your individual NPI in the subject line

    We recently reviewed 50 medical protocols. Updates will be posted online on or before February 28, 2020 and will have an effective date of April 1, 2020, unless otherwise noted.
