Credentialing and Enumeration for Nurse Practitioners and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists
Beginning January 1, nurse practitioners will have the option to be fully credentialed as a primary care provider (PCP), specialist, or enumerated in either role. Certified registered nurse anesthetists will have to option to credential as a specialist or be enumerated in the reimbursement system only.
Choosing enumeration will streamline enrollment and reduce the amount of time to set up your provider file. Enumerated providers will not be displayed in the Provider Directory.
If a provider looking to be credentialed has not previously signed a contract with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York, they will be asked to do so during this process.
For additional information on how to credential, please visit the Provider Resource Center (PRC) here.
Providers who wish to enumerate will need to complete the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Enumeration Form located on the Highmark PRC > Forms > Provider Information Management Forms.
