
How to Pay Your Health Insurance Bill
Payment options for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York Members
Paying your premiums and your health insurance bills is easy. In order to further simplify the process for our members, we offer a variety of payment options for you to pay your bill and premiums. Explore the options below and choose a payment method that is most convenient for you.
Pay your bills with one of the options below.
What you will need:
Your preferred method of payment; choose one:
- Credit or debit card
- Money order
- Check
- Checking/savings account number and routing number
If you are:
- A New York State Exchange Applicant: You will need your HIX ID
- An Individual Direct Applicant: You will need your Social Security Number
- A current member: You will need your subscriber ID and group number

Set up Automatic Payments
Set up an automatic payment and stay on top of your bills. You will be sent an invoice each month to include with your payment that is to be sent to our Payment Processing Center at the address listed above. You also have the option to elect APO (Automatic Payment Option). Please click the automatic payment option link below to complete the form. Once we receive your completed form, we will withdraw your monthly premium from your checking or savings account.

Pay Your Bill Online
Available payment methods for online bill pay: Credit or debit card
Steps to paying your bill online:
- Identify if you are a NYS Exchange Applicant, an Individual Direct Applicant, or a current Blue Cross Blue Shield member
- Enter your personal information (full name, email address, HIX ID/Social Security Number/Subscriber ID & Group number)
- Enter payment details (amount, credit/debit card details, billing information)
- Review and confirm your payment

Pay Bill by Phone
Available payment methods for paying your bill by phone:
- Credit or debit card
- Authorize a withdrawal from your checking or savings account
Steps to paying your bill by phone:
- Call us at 1-844-266-3589, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., and one of our representatives will help you with your payment process. You can also call the 800 number listed on the back of your member ID card.
- Be prepared to provide the customer service representative with your personal information including your name, phone number and email address. In addition, you will need an HIX ID or social security number, or your subscriber ID and group number, depending on the type of applicant you are. You will also need to provide your payment details.

Are you a new member?
Here's what to expect:

You will receive your first bill within 7 days. Each month you will be sent an invoice.

Your member ID card will be mailed to you after your invoice is paid in full.
