When it comes to your health, studies show early detection is key. That's why we offer preventive services to help you take control of your health — and work to improve it, too.
What are preventive services?
Preventive services include routine care such as annual checkups, screenings, and other services that may help to prevent and possibly detect health problems. Preventive care can sometimes uncover a health condition or problem before you begin to show any symptoms.
It's safer, easier, and more cost-effective to prevent health issues than to treat them. Plus, preventive services are excluded from deductibles, so if your plan includes a deductible, you can enjoy $0 preventive services right away.
Some of these preventive services include:
- Routine annual physical
- Well child visit
- Autism screening for children at 18 and 24 months
- Blood pressure screening
- Cholesterol screening
- Cardiovascular disease screening
- Diabetes screening
- Breast cancer screenings
- Colorectal cancer screening
- Free immunizations — including influenza, measles, mumps, tetanus, and more
- Routine labs ordered as part of your annual physical*
- Routine eye exam*
*For members enrolled in a commercial, direct pay, Healthy NY, New York State of Health, or ASO plan, please be aware that some of these services may require a copay or annual limits, or may only be covered in certain age ranges.
Care management preventive services
Our care management team works with you and your doctor to ensure you receive the most current information about recommended health screenings, vaccinations, and health education available. We are committed to addressing the preventive health needs of children, adolescents, and adults. We also work closely with local physician advisory groups to deliver a message consistent with the needs of our community.
