BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York health coaches are trained professionals such as registered nurses and dietitians, nutritionists and social workers. Our coaches can help you identify your wellness needs so you can decide your goals in the areas of weight management, tobacco cessation, diabetes management, and more. We will provide you with the tools and resources you need to succeed.
Health coaching is a free service, and is completely voluntary for members.

I knew I had to make a lifestyle change to improve my health but with my busy schedule, I didn’t know where to start. That was when I picked up the phone and called my health coach. Since my first discussion with my coach, I have lost 20 pounds and continue to call my health coach as motivation to remain focused on my health.
Smoking was a bad habit that I had tried to break many times. After just three calls with my health coach, we identified the triggers that made me want to smoke and ways to cope. As a result, I've learned to manage my cigarette cravings and set goals to increase my physical activity. I feel better than I have in years.
After having back surgery, I needed help creating a physical activity plan to aid in my recovery. I was concerned that my back wouldn't be able to handle strenuous activity but my health coach helped create a plan of action that worked for me. She suggested swimming as an option to stay active and it has become extremely enjoyable and beneficial to my health. I am extremely proud of the progress I have made.
