Spine Program

The goal of the Spine Program is to improve the health status for members with back and neck pain issues. We use a multi-disciplinary, population-based approach that promotes evidence-based diagnosis and treatment. Our goal is to manage health care costs, while helping you achieve optimal control of your disease.

Program interventions assist you in understanding neck and back pain, promoting self-management skills and facilitating a collaborative relationship that can reduce complications.

All members with a diagnosis of back pain or neck pain are eligible to join the program. Members can be identified for eligibility through:

  • Out-patient medical claims
  • In-patient hospital claims
  • Members can be referred to the program by their health care providers
  • Members can enroll themselves in the program

  • Personalized educational material regarding neck and back pain treatment options
  • Free, telephonic health coaching
  • Newsletter articles
  • Web links to nationally recognized leaders in musculoskeletal health
  • Web-based program information and self-management tools
  • On-line enrollment and "opt-out options"
